Community Rules
Everyone here agrees to these. Break them and your account comes down.
1. Meet in public
Use a Meetup spot or a busy place on campus. Not a dorm room, not an empty parking lot. Daytime is better.
2. Pay in person
Cash, Venmo, whatever you both agree on, after you’ve seen the item. OnlySwap never touches the money. Never pay before you meet, and never send a deposit.
3. Nothing on the banned list
No alcohol, vapes, meds, weapons, fakes, tickets, meal swipes or coursework. See the full banned items list.
4. Keep chats about the deal
No harassment, threats, hate, sexual messages, or calling out other students. Anything creepy gets reported and looked at by a real person.
In the Quad
The Quad is anonymous to other students, not to OnlySwap.
- Talk about campus, not about people. Don’t name, rate or call out another student, even without their full name.
- No threats, harassment, bullying or hate.
- No sexual content.
- No phone numbers, emails, addresses, room numbers or social handles, yours or anyone else’s.
- No selling or ads. Post a listing instead.
Posts voted down to -5 are hidden and checked by a person. Posts that break these rules come down and can mean a strike.
Photos in chat
- Only photos of the item or the meetup spot.
- No nudity or sexual images.
- No photos of other people without their OK.
- No photos of ID cards, student IDs or other documents.
Also
- Be honest about the item and its condition.
- Show up, or cancel in the app if you can’t. Repeated no-shows pause your account.
- One account per person, and you must be 18 or older.
What happens if rules are broken
A real person reviews every report. Outcomes range from a warning to a strike, a suspension or a permanent ban. You can appeal in the app. See section 6 of the Terms.
