Child safety standards
OnlySwap is only for verified students who are 18 or older. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
Our standards
- Every account confirms they are 18 or older and verifies a school email. Accounts found to belong to someone under 18 are deleted.
- Any content or behavior that sexualizes, grooms, exploits or endangers minors is banned.
- Reports about minor safety get the highest priority and are reviewed by a person as soon as possible.
Photos and posts
- Photos in listings, chats and Quad posts have location data removed and can be reported by anyone who sees them.
- Photos sent in chat are stored privately and may be checked automatically for known child sexual abuse material. Photos in chat from people you’ve just started talking to stay blurred until you tap them.
- Quad posts are anonymous to students, not to OnlySwap. We keep the link to the author so we can act on reports and report to the authorities.
- Quad photos from accounts newer than 7 days wait for a person to review them before anyone sees them.
What we do when we find it
- Remove the content.
- Preserve evidence privately, only as the law requires.
- Report it to the NCMEC CyberTipline and cooperate with law enforcement.
- Permanently ban the account.
How to report
- In the app: report the message, chat or profile and choose “Involves someone under 18”. You can also report any Quad post, reply or photo.
- On the web: use the Help page and pick “Safety”.
- If a child is in immediate danger, call 911.
